When I was putting together the second leg of the world tour, I always expected that Japan would be the last stop. It would be reasonably logical to stop off in Asia en route to New Zealand, and then work my way north through Asia, with Japan being the most north I wanted to get... and having a firm target of April to take advantage of cherry blossom season.
But then I found the perfect tour... maybe the best one of them all... one of the things I hoped to do was a bit of island hopping in Thailand. But travelling alone, I wanted to find one of my group adventure tours, but just couldn't find a good one, and it just didn't seem to make sense to visit a bunch of islands on my own...
Until I found this one...

It's hard to imagine anything better... Island hopping in the gorgeous Andaman sea... but on a catamaran!!! But then I saw the available dates between February and April... how about after Laos and Cambodia... nope... maybe before Vietnam? afraid not.... after Vietnam? no good - need to get to Japan for cherry blossom season, and before Golden Week (when everybody in Japan takes holidays and no foreign tour company can get hotel rooms).
So, in the end, I'm going to add a few thousand extra miles of flying... to fly the 6 1/2 hours from Tokyo back to Thailand to catch the 26 April - 3 May sailing... after Vietnam and Japan, I'm sure I'll love just chilling out on a sailboat, putting the final touches on my suntan!!!
That's it!!!! Ending on a high!!!! Of course, I might be having so much fun that I'll decide to keep going. (what about India, China, the trans-Siberian train, Jordan, Egypt, gorillas in Africa, the Inca Trail.... etc. etc. etc.) But I've reached the end of the planning stage... who knows if I'll have anything to say in the next month, but see you here in July/August, when I'll start posting photos, stories, etc. of CRAIG'S WORLD TOUR!!!!!
What they think about me...
