2 months notice!

I've taken the next big step - I've told my landlord I'm moving out. Scary... one thing is quitting your job (but having enough savings to last until finding a new job)... but now I'm officially going to be homeless!!!! Yikes!!! I quite like my flat, with its wooden beams and river views... but it costs way too much so I have to let it go...... I wasn't quite sure whether to leave it just before leaving for Africa in September, or at the end of July when I start travelling around Europe. In the end, I finally decided what places to visit in August, which then made it pretty clear I wouldn't be in London more than a few days before Africa. So I say goodbye to my London flat on 26th July...

Which leads me to finally answering the question "where are you going first?" It's strange, but lots of people have asked me that, but I've always had to answer "I don't know"... and I've received a few strange looks for resigning from my job without even knowing where my first destination would be!!!

In the end, the answer is.......... FINLAND!!!! (huh?) Considering I'm half Finnish, it's a bit strange I've never been to Finland, so I really needed to rectify that. But more importantly, I found a tour that visits a few of the Baltic states, those little countries that used to be part of the Soviet Union. Friends of mine have been there, and said it's a lot more interesting than you might expect. So, from 27 July to 8 August (I'm skipping the Berlin bit to fly back to London and catch the Croatia flight!) I'll be taking a lot of buses and trains through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland!

So, there we go... practically everything organised from the end of July until mid January. Baltics, Croatia, Italy, Mauritius, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Australia, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Miami, Ecuador, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Buenos Aires, Patagonia... Phew... tiring to even think about all of those flights, but on the other hand it's going to be GREAT!!! And that's barely more than half of my travelling time!!! There's still so much of the world to see...

P.S. Anybody know a good little electronic organiser???? Not sure how to keep track of all of the tour meeting points, hotels, flight times, etc. etc. etc.
