OK... forget the disaster in France... My flight from Lyon arrived at Heathrow on time on Friday, with a 5-hour stopover. That may sound like yet more misery to most of you, except for one thing... the Virgin Clubhouse!!! I think there are more than a few people who would live there if it were allowed. Fancy a shower? No problem. How about a massage? Sit down for a meal? Or a drink? Play pool? Get your shoes shined or get a haircut? Watch the big screen television? Use the laptops scattered around to play games or access the Internet? Make free phone calls within the UK? So as you can see, 5 hours is not nearly enough time!!! And all free... so forget about a spa weekend or something, just book yourself a business class flight on Virgin Atlantic and arrive to the airport 8 hours early!!
(In case you're wondering, I took advantage of my time to get a haircut, make a bunch of phone calls to airlines/banks/utilities/etc. sorting out loose ends from becoming a homeless person, update my blog, as well as have lunch and a couple of drinks - shame the flight was on time!!!)
And so now I'm in Mauritius.... really nice hotel with great service... Belle Mare Plage... I would go around taking photos because it's such a gorgeous place, but that would ruin my "seen it all before" persona... (and maybe make some of you just a bit too jealous!!!) So you'll just have to use your imagination, picturing me (and Mojito of course) on a sandy white beach, topping up my suntan (which is already looking really good!!), with a fancy drink (complete with umbrella) in my hand. Or playing on one of the two golf courses, free to hotel guests.... Or snorkelling around the nearby reef... Or lounging on the massive terrace of my hotel room...
Maybe I should just keep looping between Heathrow and Mauritius!!! Forget everywhere else... this is the good life!!!
