Ahhhhhh..... Japan..... after spending 2 months in Southeast Asia, complete with hot, humid weather, people constantly trying to sell you things, scooters driving wherever they please, the constant honking noises, etc. it feels really great to get back to a first world country!! A country where everybody is incredibly polite (even striking up conversations in restaurants to offer us gaijin some "sho chu", the food is wonderful (Vietnamese food was rather awful), and where the weather is a pleasant early-spring 20-something!! The only downside is that Raquel had to fly back to London today - her two months of holiday are now over...
But before she left, we had a chance to explore Kyoto, a city that was advertised as fabulous, and is not disappointing. So many temples... it's hard to say which is the nicest... and the cherry blossoms... beautiful...
So, not much more to do or say other than to post as many photos as possible...

So.... another free day in Kyoto tomorrow and then it's off to Hiroshima. Sayonara!!!
