After Vilnius, we went to a national park about 2 hours away. One afternoon was spent kayaking. (sadly I couldn't get a photo, but imagine poor Jabba trying to get in and out of a kayak... we thought we might need to call in the fire department to extract him from the kayak!!!)
Anyhow, after the national park, we had a long day on the train to Warsaw. 13 hours!!!! And I've already been to Warsaw!!! But it was still alright... just for the nostalgia of my summers spent backpacking around Europe on the train...
Then yesterday, I realised how precarious some of my travel arrangements are. On the plane, we pulled back as if to taxi out to the runway, only to return onto stand... one engine won't start!!! (at least we found out then, and not when trying to take off!!) After initially being concerned about making it back to London in time to catch my flight this morning (I write from Heathrow, waiting for the next plane), an engineer managed to fix things within about 3 hours. So an uneventful flight (eventually), one of the last buses from Gatwick to Heathrow, and a taxi to the hotel... Rather later than expected, but all fine...
So, it's off to Croatia next... sailing the Adriatic!!!! See you the next time I find wifi!!!!
